Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Simple answers to the things people usually ask.

Do I need to download an app?
No. You can record your visit right here on this website. Nothing to install, nothing to set up.
Does my doctor need to know I'm recording?
In many places, yes — some states require everyone in the conversation to be aware a recording is happening. We recommend letting your doctor know before you start. It's a simple, respectful step, and it's your responsibility as the person making the recording. See our Terms of Service for more detail.
What happens to my recording?
Your recording is processed in real time to generate your plain-language explanation. We don't keep a long-term copy of the audio itself. For full detail, see our Privacy Policy.
What languages does Aira support?
Aira supports 50+ languages and explains your visit in the one you're most comfortable with. If you don't see your language listed in the app, let us know — we're adding more over time.
Is this the same as my doctor's notes?
No. Aira is a plain-language explanation of your visit, written for you, not a medical record or official chart note. It's meant to help you understand and remember, not to replace what your doctor's office keeps on file.
Can Aira give me medical advice?
No. Aira helps you understand what was said and prepares questions for your next visit. It does not diagnose, treat, or replace your doctor's judgment. Always follow your doctor's instructions and contact them directly with medical concerns.
Is Aira free?
Details on pricing are available within the app. We'll always be upfront about any costs before you're asked to pay anything.
I'm a healthcare provider or health system. How do I learn more?
We'd love to talk. Please visit our contact page to reach our team.
